Isabel Rico Galicia
Choir Master
Since half way through 2021, Isabel Rico Galicia has joined our team of dedicated choir masters and has helped to lead the group from Casa de Jesús en Celaya Guanajuato.
This has been the first of our choirs to operate in Mexico outside of the city of Michoacan in Morelia and has been great to see the passion and enthusiasm Isabel has brought to the role.
Previously, Isabel has taken multiple courses specialising in children’s choral singing and honed these skills whilst worked with multiple children’s choirs for a number of years. In her own words, she ‘simply loves working with children and youth choirs’. She feels the note of their singing voices is so tender and she feels she has the perfect repertoire to maximise their performances.
Her involvement in our I Have a Voice Orphans Choir program makes her fill full of joy. She knows she has done a good job when the students enjoy the class and begin making music, rather than just singing. Nothing would make her happier than continuing to see the program expand in terms of quantity of children impacted and the quality of their musical performances.
