Choir Master

Yonora Guzmán Aguilar is the Choir Director of the Casa Hogar Irekani since September 2021.

She believes I Have a Voice Orphan’s Choir is the closest means to bring a person closer to achieving an integrated personal development through music.

I believe it is important for a child to be involved with others whose objectives are to create well-being for themselves, their environment and to promote these values in others.

My favourite part is to see each small improvement in each child and young person involved, improvements in memory, discipline, self-esteem and the creation of good social interactions with their peers.

Yonora has 15 years of experience with children's choirs and orchestras, management of information and communication technologies and constant learning and research in neurolinguistic programming focused on education and group persuasion. She feels this background allows her to excel in her teaching.

When all goes well in her work, it makes her feel calm and happy. Especially when a member of the choir comes to her and asks her to listen to her/him sing!

To see the future with many children and youth choirs around the world excites her. She hopes that eventually some of these children will grow up and start their own choirs in many different places with different cultures and thus enrich their souls.
